"Column" Field Attribute

In some examples in the Discussion board there is an additional Field Attribute "Column" used as follows:
<Fields>
        <Field Name="Account" Column="UserName" SqlType="varchar(255)" SPType="Text" Required="true"></Field>
        <Field Name="Title" Column="Name" SqlType="varchar(255)" SPType="Text" Required="false"></Field>
        <Field Name="E-Mail" Column="E-Mail" SqlType="varchar(255)" SPType="Text" Required="false"></Field>
    </Fields>
Is this some kind of internal stuff or is "Column" missing in the description of the SLAM.config file  ? When yes - what is the meaning of "Column" ?

Column is an optional attribute that you can use if your want the column in the SLAM database to be named something other than the SharePoint field name. So, in your example above, the "Account" field data would be mapped to the "UserName" column.

We typically find it most useful for mapping the "title" field, as it's in every list by default and isn't usually a very descriptive way of thinking about the data.
